One day I got to watch Larry work to recruit someone: me!
He peppered me with questions:
“What are you going to do with your life?”
“What’s your biggest dream?”
“Are you married?”
“Do you have a family to take care of?”
“When are you going to get off the road?”

I can figure out the meaning out of this context but in this case I'm in doubt, Does it means that "When are you going to stop working" or rather" When are you going to not to take risks anymore"?

Thanks a lot.

I can only assume that the person travels a lot, probably for his job. "To get off the road" would be to cease the frequent (or continuous) travel.

From the other excerpts of this book that Sepmre has posted, it's clear that it's about working in sales. Salespeople who work on the road travel frequently to customer sites. This can be exhausting, so the prospect of getting off the road and ceasing the incessant travel can be appealing.
