'to go individually'?

Hi,

Is there any verb used when a person prefers to do whatever right to their own mind, while they're expected to work with others? There might be various adjs referring to such people, however, I'd like to know what's the verb used here. (Say, Sth like 'to go individually', especially in a groupwork.)

Not a teacher, am a native.

"To go his (or her) own way." is kind of neutral about it. I'm not sure if you mean that it is a bad behavior.

If the behavior is bad or is not what what is expected by the bosses, one might say "He is not a team player."
