hi,

what does "to go off" mean in the sentences below?

”my teacher often advise people to go off and do something wonderful...”

"both of whom had "better things to do" than to go off and fight a war that both considered useless..."

"I simply want to go off and make an incredible trip..."

thanks,
jc
