Please explain the meaning of "jeopordizing a rebound" in the following context. Demand for the yen declined after Mr. X told reporters that the country sold record amounts of yen in the firts quarter to preevent the currency's strength from jeopardising a rebound. May thanks.

Jeopardize is defined as to put something or somebody at risk or expose them to danger.

And rebound simply means previous stage. So apparently selling great amounts of Yen was an economic strategy to make it possible for the country's economy to move back to its more ideal level.

And, as it seems, the currency's strength is an obstacle to the recovery of economy.
