Hi everybody,

I have seen many English/American movies and I have heard some expressions I think they might mean the same thing but I've found these sentences in different contexts.

Now, could you tell me if these sentences can be used in the same context or if they mean the same thing? I'd be glad if you could write some examples to me to clear my doubts up, using these expressions correctly.

1) How do I look?/ What do I look like?

2) How did she look?/ What did she look like?

3) He looks very tired./ He's tired. He looks like he had been running.

Thanks in advance for your help.

'Look like' involves a comparison:
He looks like his father (He is not his father and I know that, but they are similar in appearance.)

He looks tired (His appearance suggests this, but I don't know for sure.)
