Hello,

I'm writing about singles (songs) in a chart (like the Billboard chart).
I want to say that a certain song remained at the bottom of the chart for many weeks.
I was wondering if there's a verb in English that means "to make no progress" in the appropriate context (staying at the bottom of the chart).

Isn't the pop industry expression, "It languished at the bottom of the charts for 4 weeks"?
Another way of saying it would be, "It remained stalled at the bottom of the charts for 6 weeks."

You can also use the word "stuck", which is the past tense and past participle of the verb "stick", and also is an adjective. (like a car stuck in the mud)
The song (has been)(had been)(was)(remained) stuck at the bottom of the chart for many weeks. I would recommend this use as an adjective, rather than as a verb.
