Does 'to twist somebody round one's little finger' mean 'to deceive'? In my language it does (we have a similar expression). But I've come across this idiom with a different meaning. Can it also be used to talk about deceiving people?

I would be grateful, if you add some more idioms which mean 'to deceive' to this list:
1) to take somebody for a ride;
2) ...
