hi,

what's the correct verb to use when refering to medication?

"Can I use/take eyedrops for dry eyes?"

"Are you using/taking your sleeping pills?"

I found both on the web.

thanks.

If you are swallowing the medication = to take.

If you are applying the medication externally = to use.

As we all know, the internet is not always accurate.

Having said that, it is possible to ask if someone is using medication.
