Which is correct:
1-He writes too sad novels.
2-He writes novels too sad.

1 uis correct, I suppose, but I'd say 'novels which\that are too sad'. ;-)

I wouldn't use either one.

In the plural, the indefinite article disappears, so the moving it to the other side of the adjective doesn''t work. I'd avoid that construction in the plural.

#2 is in the structure of a resultative adjective, since "sad" is not an adverb. It just doesn't work with "write" and "sad".

He cooks meat too rare. (OK)
He paints walls too dark. (OK)
