Hi. I'm writing my senior thesis and don't know how to transition from one sentence to another in my introduction.

"In philosophy, idealism is the group of philosophies which assert the belief that our reality, or reality as we know it, is fundamentally mental, or otherwise mentally constructed in our minds. In literature, idealism is the representation of things in ideal or idealized form...The element of idealism is greatly used in Scott Fitzgerald’s third novel The Great Gatsby, in order to represent how, in order to move forward in life we must sometimes leave our past behind.

I need a sentence to write in between my thesis statement and the sentence before. Thanks

I don't think you need a transition sentence. You have moved smoothly from one explanation of idealism through another, more relevant to your topic, to another - your topic.
