"There are tremendous amount of energy sources in the underground of poles."


I mean to say:

Poles: The polar regions of the world, very cold and far places.

Energy sources: All sources which can be used as energy such as oil, coal etc.

1. You don't think tremendous amount is correct but I remember such a collacation as "tremendous amount".
2. Why do you think resource instead of source?
3. How can you emphasize that they are underground without using underground?
4. I found a in wikipedia that polar is in use so why is it incorrect to use "poles" instead of "polar regions"?

When you say "polar region" I know you mean the ends of the earth.

When you just say "poles" it is not clear what you mean.

If you write "at the Poles", readers will understand (in context) that you mean the North Pole and the South Pole. When I first read your sentence, I thought you were talking about pieces of wood or telegraph poles.
