I wouldn't use 'phenomenon' in these sentences because none of these strikes me as particularly new or surprising or going against normal patterns to that degree. ;-)

phenomenon

noun

Synonyms: event, circumstance, occurrence, wonder, abnormality, episode, spectacle, sensation, marvel, prodigy

Tips: Phenomenon is derived from the Greek phainomenon, which means "that which appears or is seen." A phenomenon is something that is known by seeing or experiencing it. The band was an American phenomenon, loved by everyone. (sensation)

His extraordinary abilities labeled him as a phenomenon. (marvel, sensation)
