- very beautiful city
- great weather
- fairly exprensive to stay there though
- lots of tourist traps
- excellent coffee (but restritto!)
- some good ristoranti, but a lot of junk food too
- good gelati (ice cream)
- the pasta is just fine of course, and so is the prosciutto.
- I liked the Brunello wine, but not that much the Chianti. I still prefer French wines as a rule ;)
- they don't know how to make good bread! If I bought bread like that in a French boulangerie, I would never call again.
- the Italian don't seem to speak much English. Ok, I don't speak much Italian either ;)
- Seldom have I seen so many tourists in so small a place -- and I live in the Quartier Latin in Paris!

They fail to put salt or something. It's downright tasteless, wherever you go. They must like it that way, which surprised me indeed as they otherwise know something about food.

Maybe they gave you "pane sciapo" (without salt, just assuming lol). There are so many types of brad.. :D
...and yes, we don't speak English at all X) if you spoke French I think they'd understand you better =)
