Hi

Could someone please help me with a turn of phrase that I'm sure exists but I just can't think of it.

I want to say that it is no more (as in it greater) my job to know something than it is theirs. Now that's what I want to say but I know that doesn't make any sense and that's the only way I can describe it! I basically want to say that just because I am in a different role within the company, that doesn't make my knowledge grater than theirs. Is there a better turn of phrase that I can use?

Sorry if this is confusing!

I would be very grateful for your advice.

Many thanks

I think you phrased it fine if you're not concerned about offending your interlocutor: It's no more my job to know that than it is yours.

I find it strange to compare how much two people know. You probably say something like this about a specific issue at hand: I only know as much as you do.

Being assistant supervisor/working in HR doesn't (suddenly) make me any more knowledgeable than you.
