Turtle & Tortoise

I can't make the difference between "turtle" and "tortoise".
Could anyone tell me about that? 8)

The one that spends a lot of time in the sea is a 'turtle'. ;-)

Turtles generally have flippers and can't get around very well on land. Sea turtles (which Tdol mentioned), for example, come to shore only to lay their eggs. Tortoises, on the other hand, are true land animals.
