Hello. Would you please tell me the meaning of the underlined phrases in the contexts below?
The speaker is a spy and he has a package to deliver to another spy in downtown.
He takes a very confusing route in case he's being followed.
I wonder there's any special meaning or just a wordplay or something.
Thank you.

from <The Way Downtown> by Inna Gertsberg-------
(He's talking to himself)
-Rats an cats! Must switch trains immediately!

-Twists and twizzles, you better hope no one heard you talking to that woman.

-Sniffs an sniffles! What doe this dog see in me?

-Jam and jelly, you've got time for a cuppa!

You could have mentioned that this is a children's book. The harmless exclamations are intended to amuse the little ones.

Cf Robin's exclamations, like 'Holy Hamburger!' 'Holy Nightmare'. (Click here to read all 368 of them.)
