Hi.

Could anyone help me with the underlined sentence? I am not quite sure of its meaning. Thanks a lot.

Bosses find it hard to admit doubt and indecision to colleagues: it seems to concede inadequacy and jeopardize respect. And underlings are just as hesitant - perhaps because admitting anxiety to a colleague is to expose one's vulnerability to someone who may also, in some ways, be a competitior.

Underlings are the people of little importance under the boss, and they find it hard to be honest about doubts too. ;-)
