Uplift = Collect, draw?

My Colleague who is a Chinese and study in Canada for few years.

One day he texted me, saying ' We plan to stop all the products uplifting at system at 2pm.

I was confused. He later said the word uplift means to collect things.

After google it, I found out people use uplift as collect in Scotland/New Zealand.

So my question is, is it very widely known by people that Uplift means collect , pick up or to draw things out from a spot?

This does not make sense to me even if "uplift" means to collect things. To stop product collection at system?
I understand "uplift" is used with abstract things e.g. spirit, moral, morale, etc.

I advise students not to use 'uplift' like that. Just be aware of its meaning if you encounter it in the countries specified.

That may be fine in Scottish English, but I have never come across it in English English.

The word "uplift" is used in some technical situations to mean "collect". Where I work, if we want a faulty/damaged product collected by the company that delivered it, we have to ask for an "uplift code" - the person who collects the item asks for the code so that they know we have been given permission by the company to return the item. I'd never heard it used that way until I was in my current job.
