I am working on translating a patent related document from Japanese to English and would like a netive English speaker or someone equivalent to tell me if there is a better way of wording a sentence below. Backgroudns of this text is that the Applicant automatically received a three-month filing period when they submitted a document, but they still need additional three more months.
