I'm confused about the usage of 'manifest' as a verb. The dictionary lists its meanings as "to show, demonstrate clearly" and "(of a disembodied spirit) to appear in visible form", which does not help at all. Although I don't see this word a lot I have this gut feeling that 'manifest' can be used to mean "embody, show (in a certain fashion)", as in:
His lack of attention to detail is manifested in the amount of mistakes he made in the test.
I can't be sure, though.
Any help would be appreciated.
