use of "funny"

Please correct grammatically and make them clearer
1) It was a funny argument( Can any other word be used instead of funny)
2) what are you going to major in for gradutation
3) My mom was going to ask my father to go and complain to the Principal then I told her , its of no use the exam paper is over

1) Arguments aren't usually funny. They're usually serious, so I'm not sure what you mean.

2) What are you going to major in? (You don't "major for graduation". You major in a subject and, if you're successful, you graduate.)

3) My mum was going to ask my dad to complain to the principal but I told her there was no point because the exam is over. (Use either "mum and dad" or "mother and father" but not a mixture of the two.)

In some cases words like "amusing", "diverting", "entertaining" are not only appropriate, but also more sophisticated than the word "funny" is.

Generally speaking, it is slightly strange, but an argument can be funny for an outsider who doesn't take part in the argument. ;-)

Oh, I've watched (and taken part in!) The Argument Clinic many times and it is indeed hilarious. It's just not the normal state of affairs for an argument. There may well have been alternative adjectives for the OP's argument question, but it would be rather subjective. The person speaking would be the only one who knew whether they found the argument funny/hilarious/amusing/diverting/hysterical etc.
