use of "the"

Hello everyone
I'd like to ask about the use of articles in the following sentence:

NGOs forming part of the first group (civilian activists) take direct part in political processes at the level of the country, region or world.

Do I need "the" before "world"?

As far as I know, you normally do, but since there is already a definite article before "country", it is also a part of "region" and "world. Therefore, you don't need to put an extra "the".
