Is it possible to say "FOR TWO WEEKS we went shopping EVERY DAY" speaking about past?

I remember that we use FOR (a period of time) with perfect tenses, but is it possible to use FOR with Past Simple?

Or we have to say something like "(During) The next two weeks we went shopping every day"?...

Thank you!

Yes, it is.

No, we don't have to say that although that sentence is possible in the right context.

Thank you!

The present perfect tense has something to do with the present. If an event is decidedly in the past, you only use past simple.
