Is there something wrong with the way I structure the underlined sentence? It sounds awkward, yet seems grammatically correct.

The strange sound grew louder and louder. She held her breath and tried to ignore it. However, her curiosity was too much for her to bear. I .......

Thank you!

No, it doesn't work. We don't bear curiosity.
Also, I don't see what holding one's breath has to do with not being able to hear a sound.

Actually I like your creativity. If you are writing a story, I think you should keep the expression.

Do you mean the expression, "her curiosity was too much for her to bear"?

I agree with teechar that we don't 'bear curiosity'.

Also, the expression is not my creative idea. I read it from some books.

If you quote someone else's work, you must credit them. Please tell us the title and author of the book in which you found this extract.

In your OP, you asked about the way YOU construct the sentence. If this is someone else's, what exactly were you trying to ask?

It was from a composition written by a friend.

I'm sorry. I should have worded my OP accurately. I didn't realise the accuracy in the way I ask is of vital importance. As I'm learning, please excuse me.
