Hi everyone,

Is this sentence correct?

No, it isn't.

To quote emsr2d2's signature line:

'If you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect'.

Use 'a lot of'.

Sure teacher. "We enjoyed ourselves by having some rides, and they were a lot of fun."

Use 'a lot of'.
"Fun" is uncountable noun, why cannot we use 'much' with it?

We use 'much' mostly in negative or comparative sentences:

'It rained, so we didn't have much fun'.

'We had much more fun when the sun came out.'

Aha! In that case, "having some rides" is wrong. Use "going on some rides."
