Dear teachers,

Could you tell me whether the following manner to put a question is a common occurrence?

"We 'have to' be at the office at 9 am, don't we?"

"No, we don't (we don't have to). The working hours begin at 10 am."

They 'don't have to' do the cleaning in the lab so early in the morning, do they?"

Yes, they do (they have to). There's no other time. Part-time students work there till 10 in the evening."

Thank you in advance for your efforts.

Regards.

V.
