How do you put 'weathering' into a sentence? please help!

"Weathering" is wear and tear due to use, depletion, depriciation or erosion.
Weathering is the decomposition of rocks and soils through direct contact with the Earth's atmosphere.

That is one possible meaning of "weathering". It doesn't apply in many other contexts, such as these:
In these times of financial uncertainty, some firms are closing; but others are weathering the storm.
That fence, which was such a horrid bright orange when I painted it two years ago, is weathering nicely.
(Of course, the second is related to the idea of 'wear and tear during use'. But it's not the wear and tear itself that the speaker is talking about; it's the process of undergoing wear and tear.)
In other words, posts that say things like 'Give me an example of <word> in context' encourage a limited understanding of word meanings. A dictionary, a thesaurus, and lots of using the language are all essential.
