Dear Teacher,

I'm a bit of curious what kind of job a person who is a native English speaker majoring English do USUALLY?

1. An English teacher?
2. A journalist/ writer?
3. Any other choice?

And Must a native speaker teacher who teaches English in his /her own country hold a degree in English discipline USUALLY?:)

English majors take all kinds of jobs, teacher, writer, sales, insurance, etc. I suspect many who major in English do so because they love literature. Their choice of occupation may rely on other skills that they have acquired in college (or life).

In order to TEACH English in the U.S. requires a teaching certificate. This is usually taken by Education majors, or by a fifth year program for English (and other) majors.

I majored in English and that is precisely the reason for the choice of degree course. Studying something I have a passion for and that is very helpful in my occupation as a teacher! :)

Thanks, it is a wonderful and exciting place to be. Today I told my students that China is tomorrow, and "you" are tomorrow!

There are also many jobs that require a degree but not in any specific subject. ;-)
