1 I always hate the first few weeks of the new year, mostly because I'm sick to death of people in commercials who are all." Let's diet! It's a new year!"

I can understand the first part which means I don't like the first few weeks of the new year. But I can't understand the part underlined. Could you please tell me what it means?

2 Instead rushing through the rooming,go slow and take your time.

Does the sentence mean"Don't hurry! relax yourself!"? And what does rooming mean? Can "room" be a verb?

Thank you!

1. I'm sick to death of people in commercials who are saying...

2 Instead rushing through the rooming, go slow and take your time.
You have the correct understanding of this (incorrect) sentence. This sentence should be: Instead of rushing through the room, go slow and take your time.

Room can be a verb: I roomed with him when we were at school.
