What does this sentence mean? I don't understand it :(

We're going to be really early if we set off now.

This is a sentence of a exercise in the internet, so I don't have any context, unfortunately.

If we set off (= leave the current place to go somewhere eg. for an appointment) now, we're going to be early (= we'll arrive too early, before the expected time eg. at 19:30 while the appointment is at 20:00).

"e.g." (exempli gratia) means "for example"
