Hi,
Could anybody can spell it out for me what does the sentence " Don't pull that card on me" mean? Thanks.

the scripts below:(Script's from Prison Break 01x02)

P - Mr. Giles,
- we'd like to have a word with you, if we could.
Tim - I really don't have time.
P - I'm afraid we're going to have to insist.
- It's come to our attention that you made a FOIL request
- a couple of days ago, on the Burrows case.
Tim - Yeah. So?
P - Records show that you made a dupe of the surveillance tape.
Tim - That's right.
P - Mind us asking why?
Tim - It's for one of Burrows' old girlfriends, man.
- She was under the impression that the guy was innocent.
- I figured it'd, you know, help her with closure.
H - She's in possession of the tape now, then?
Tim - Don't pull that card on me.
- It's the Freedom of Information Act.
- She's entitled to that tape as much as you or I are.
P - Oh, no, no, no, no, no, by all means, by all means.
Tim - - May I go now?
P - Just one more thing.
- This old girlfriend of his...
- what's her name?

Really thanks for your help...

Hi,

This is a guess: it means 'don't try that trick on me' or, 'don't try to gain the upper-hand in the conversation like that'.

But, since she is entitled to see a copy of the tape anyway, it's likely that Tim is using the expression needlessly. He is not so intelligent, after all.

Hope this helps.

Yes you are right. It was, however, a warning to P and in the context Tim was telling P that he knew the rules and so P shouldn't try to trick him. I think it was necessary since there is every indication that P was about to try to do so. :)
