Workohalic is a person who has a compulsive need to work. It's an addiction and like many other addictions it can affect one's life profoundly. In fact, if this addiction turns into an obsession, it might have a devastating affect on a person's life. Your sentence is talking about a person helping someone else overcome that addiction without compromising their work performance and letting that person enjoy his life to the fullest. People with addictions are depriving themselves of a full and enjoyable life because the addiction takes over their entire lives.

"full lives" means living to the fullest.
