A guy says to a girl: " You want a ride ? ". The girl replies: " Nope. Thanks for the tip". In this circumstance, does "the tip" mean "the offer" ?
I received an email from an employment agency. The email notified me about a job opening with descriptions, and asked me if I'm interested in applying ; but I'm not really interested because it's not a right fit. After the explanation for refusal, can I say " Anyway, thanks for the tip. " ? Is "tip" a proper word to use in this situation?
