2-It is important what you do.

Can't these sentences have two distinct meanings:
A-You have an important job. The work you are doing is important.
B-You have an important choice to make. In this situation what you do is important.

Yes they can. In my opinion, for the second meaning, it is better to say "choose" or "choose to do".
