Generally, a movie about two (or more) guys (or maybe gals) who are good friends and go through some adventures (or misadventures) together.
Stand By Me is actually a buddy movie, but the characters are quite young.

(3) I think that there is a new term also being used: bromance.

"romance." It refers to a close, non-gay friendship between two
men.
