pls help me i can't figure out what is natural process in paragraphing? pls help me.
A paragraph is a natural way to divide up a large number of sentences into 'groups'. When you look at a book imagine what it would be like without paragraphs. It is separation; another form of punctuation. Just as there are small and large sentences so paragraphs come in many sizes.
It is normal to group sentences together which are linked in some way - maybe all about one theme - and to present the subject matter in a way that is more easily read. Often there is a natural break in the writing and a new paragraph is introduced. However, this is not readily understood. It is quite common, but poor English style, to see business letters where each sentence is a separate paragraph, or paragraphs of two sentences, where it would be natural to put them together in a larger paragraph.
Writing is a matter of style; paragraphs help the writer to set his/her own style as well as being natural breaks. In dramatic writing - such as a crime novel - paragraphs vary depending upon the drama or urgency at any stage in the novel, and then it is often the case that paragraphs are short, to highlight a point, an action. This breaks up the flow and adds impact for the reader.
