This is from Will & Grace, the famous sitcom.
Will blames Grace for judging his new boyfriend, but she does not judge him. So she thinks will has some problems with the new guy, and she says..

Will, I liked him. Maybe you're the one who has a problem with him. Is that possible... Hecter Projector?

This seems quite funny to other viewers, but I don't get the meaning of Hecter Projector. What does this mean?

Do you know what episode it was? What was it about? Did Will show slides?

Hector Projector is the name of a slide projector; the word Hector is also a man's first name. To call someone 'Hector Projector' is to say that s/he likes to show slides--something most people, if forced to view the slide show, consider rather boring.

Pure speculation here, but maybe the date wasn't interested in Will's slide show and so the reason Will doesn't like him :?:

All the best, :D

I am not a teacher, but I think the meaning of "Hector Projector" is different in this sense. I believe Grace is referring to psychological projection (or projection bias), which Wikipedia defines as the unconscious act of denial of a person's own attributes, thoughts, and/or emotions, which are ascribed to the outside world, like the weather, the government, a tool or another person or people. I think she is suggesting that Will has issues with the new guy and rather than admit this to himself and/or her, he is ascribing them to Grace. She is using the name of the old projector "Hector Projector" to be funny yet to also call him out for being less than truthful. Does that make sense?
