Hello Everyone,:)

A Chinese report says that a 45 female teahcer develops love with his two male students. In chinese, a female has a romantic relationship with two males , or a male with two females. We call it 'triangle love'. I am doubting that the phrase comes from the western countries? Is that so?

Regards

Sky

You mean "love triangle".

Here is a definition from "wikipedia":
A love triangle is a romantic relationship involving three people. While it can refer to two people independently romantically linked with a third, it usually implies that each of the three people has some kind of relationship to the other two. The relationships can be friendships, romantic, familial (often siblings), or even pre-existing hatred between rivals.

I made these corrections:

A Chinese report says that a 45 year old female teacher had a love relationship with two male students. In Chinese, a female has a romantic relationship with two males, or a male with two females. We call it a 'triangle love'. I doubt that the phrase comes from western countries. Is that so?

The teacher could have had an affair with two students, but not at the same time. Maybe one each semester

Shakespear: Whereas 'Triangle love' is an unhealthy obsession with geometric shapes.

I literaly felt off (note: not off of) my chair over this. Good thing I was holding a drink. I would have busted my keyboard.

Poeple should be held resposible for pulling off tricks like that!
