What is the meaning of "virtue of atomic element" ?
The phrase comes from the sentence below.
"Structured data permits the interpretation of its content by virtue of atomic elements that are understandable by an
application and indivisible."
(This sentence is from the "NIST Special Publication 800-53. Revision 3 APPENDIX F AC-4 Control Enhancements
8)" .
The document can be viewed by searching the file "sp800-53-rev3-final.pdf".)
The word "Structured data" can be explained as "data within the database", but I cannot find the relation with the words "virtue
of atomic element".Is it some kind of figurative expression ?
In addition, "application and indivisible" seems to be used as a similar or same level of words, but I cannot find any relation
to these words.
