what is wrong in this sentense and please suggest the right way to say:


I am having two brothers.

:up: ;-) Also, the meaning of 'have' as 'deceive' (informal language) is possible - "I am having two brothers" in the sense "I am in the middle of the deceit of two brothers"/"I am a con-man and they are my 'marks'." But this, and the pregnant woman, would be unusual (mine more than theirs!).

As mmasny says, 'We don't use continuous tenses to talk about states.' So, in the unlikely examples that Linguist_ and I have presented, the speaker is forcing the listener to understand 'have' in some figurative sense that has nothing to do with states. So, in 99.9999% of cases 'I am having two brothers" will be wrong.
