Preposition with an adjective object?

That goes against what I know about prepositions.

Objects of prepositions must be nouns.

MOBA games are viewed as [if they were] distinct.
In any case, what follows "viewed" seems to be an adverbial phrase.

This seems right to me. Whatever follows is adverbial, whether phrase or clause. Thank you!
