1,What is the different between essay, writing, theme and artical....?
2,When a schoolboy composes a writing as his teacher required. what is the proper word to refer the work? please.

Essay,theme, article are written things. "article is usually something published in a newspaper or magazine. Essay/theme are both words for a paper written by a student. Use whichever word your teacher uses.

Dear Sir,
if I say,
1, Mr. John has given some topics and required all students in his class finished their themes/essays in a few days.
2, Those are my themes/essays to practice how to use modal verbs, and could you give me some comments?

Do those sound grammartically, logically and culturally good, or awkard. What would be the native English sperker's common expressions?
