I can't figour out the meaning.

People have a natural tendency to never forget themselves :D, so the person means it is impossible to forget the person he/she is addressing.

Oh, it's just clicked :)
This means "I am as unlikely to forget you as I am unlikely to forget my own life"
The 'as soon as' construct here is misleading for an ESL student.
