Here is nobody but me.
I mean this part of forum.

Btw, you don't understand my humor?
 Think about Napoalon and his island.
The same as me.
:( I'm very unhappy about this.

And, good morning. "King Red"

Btw, I posted my topics in Ask A Teacher and Sir Ron can correct my English there. It's still a language lesson. But now, cry, sob, it's unfair.

Here is more like a prison.
Mike, what do you think of events happened in Iraq recently?

Mistreated the captive and hostage beheading.

Do you want to hear most of Chinese's comments?

If you don't wish to talk about it, then just ignore it.

This is not a politics or current events forum.

Mike is right. It is not a politics or current events forum. But talking about current events is a good way for an ESL learner to practice his English. :)

Do you want an opinion? I will give you one. The beheading was horrible--too horrible for words. I didn't see the whole thing, but I undestand that I could have done so if I had gone to the right website. However, hearing the description of it was enough for me. That just tells you what kind of people they are if they would execute a man for no reason.

Thanks, Ron poet, I just wanna know what Americans would think about such events.
What you meant is that actually this wouldn't cause an extensive hatred to Muslem in America?
Like 3K party before.
In fact, I don't pretty much care about politics itself now, but I'm really willing to understand the thoughts from different cultures. And discussion is the good way for this, isn't it? It'd be very nice if others can be a little understandable.

Americans are horrified by the beheading. That includes Muslim Americans. I think President Bush summed it up well when he said of those people that they fill hospitals but they don't build them. (Would they even know how to build a hospital?) It is a horrible thing to do to a human being. Those people are sadistic and will do anything. They will stop at nothing.

Did you hear about the seven Iraqis who were brought to America and fitted with artificial hands? They do wonderful things with prosthetics these days. It's a wonderful good news story. (Saddam had punished the men by having their hands cut off for dealing in American currency.)

No, Americans don't hate Muslims. The Islamic extremists, however, deal in hate all day long.

What is the 3K party?

:)

 Hm, I don't know that about Iraqis's story. As for the punishment that dictators always like, I learned something about China's dictator, Mao Zedong that a woman was cut throat and tongue because she cursed Chinese' great Chairman Mao. Another story, a kid was driven crazy by people because he knocked down Mao's portrait. A lot of such things ever happend to us in 1966-1976, same as Sadam. But you know what? Until now there are still a large number of Chinese adoring this dictator, thinking of him as God and believing China needs such Great Man.

Hmm, I know a good saying about this," Only inferior nation needs Great Man". Don't you think so? I really respect America's Nation Father,(is it this word?"Georage Washington?")
 Why didn't Americans regard him as God?

It seems that they weren't satisfied with cutting out her tongue (so she couldn't talk), so they had to cut her throat (kill her). And just for cursing Chairman Mao? Here in the USA people curse George Bush all day long.

I have never heard that saying before. Certainly, America has had its share of great men. But they were men, not gods. They were admired, not idolized.

George Washington's nickname was "The Father of His Country". (He was the first President of the United States.) He was admired, even revered, but he was not regarded as a god. After all, we had rejected the idea of having a king. Also, the country was founded by Christians, and Christians reject the idea of a man being a god (with the exception of Christ, of course.)

Americans devised a Constitution specifically to limit the powers of government. When too much power is placed in the hands of men bad things happen.

The fact is that, they were executing her in front of many people for the bad things she had said about Mao. But they were afraid that she might shout out something before she died. So these murderers cut her throat before shooting her.

I saw her picture in a newspaper--an incredibly beautiful, sunny, young mother of two(?) kids with a really gracious quality. As we can imagine, what she had suffered in the prison--brutal tortures and rape. In order to protect her beloved husband and young kids, she had to divorce him and leave her children before being arrested. And they also had to write something to indicate that "we have anything to do with this counter-revolutionary woman any more".

But I heard that America had 57 fathers of country, all those people who constituted the first America government and discussed American constitution, is it true?

You knew her too? Sigh, what a great woman in China at that time, but I doubt who will remeber her forever or think of her as heroine. Some of Chinese only adore the power and status all the time.
