I wonder if there is a subtle difference in the meaning between "1" and "2".
1. When you get there, give me a call.
2. As soon as you get there, give me a call.

2. As soon as you get there, give me a call.
The second one wants you to to call immediately after you get there. Don't delay even a few minutes.
