Hello, I've got a question about the sentence below.
We made popcorn when he came.
I have some variants of its interpretation. Here they are:
1. We had made popcorn when he came.
2. We made popcorn when he had come. (We waited for him to come, we didn't want to start making popcorn without him.)
3. We were making popcorn when he came.
May the original sentence be interpretated as all my variants? I especially would like to know whether the second variant was grammatical and whether it ment the same as the sentence in brackets.
