I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

When Nigel bought his first car, he and his wife often went for drives in the countryside. Then his wife died, and Nigel didn't feel like driving in the countryside any more.

That's okay, but consider:
When Nigel bought his first car, he and his wife often went for drives in the countryside, but after his wife died, Nigel didn't feel like driving in the countryside any more.
