when to use past perfect tense

1) Is it that when only one action takes place in past we should Simple Present .Can we use past perfect tense if there was only one action in the past
eg:I went to computer classes
I had gone to computer classes( One action only)

2) Also do we use future perfect tense when only two actions occur in future or we can use only if its one action.
eg: I will have not slept on sunday because of my exams

Simple present has nothing to do with the past.

Can we use past perfect tense if there was only one action in the past
