Which is the correct saying? why?

If they are both correct, what is the difference in meaning?

a) I'm glad to have received your email.

b) I'm glad to receive your email.

a) uses the present perfect in the 'to' clause.
b) uses the simple present in the 'to' clause.
They are similar to the Italian. I believe the different connotations are the same.
a) "Sono felice di aver ricevuto la tua e-mail".
b) "Sono felice di ricevere la tua e-mail."

And many times, you will find that asking "why?" leads to the same frustrating answer: There's no reason, it simply is said like that.

Usually there's a difference in meaning.
You can say "I am [always] glad to receive your emails" - which applies to the future as well.
But "I am glad to have received your emails" can only apply to the past emails.
