Both are correct but is 1) [STRIKE]is[/STRIKE] clearer and easier to understand?

1) Apical ballooning syndrome (ABS) is a unique reversible cardiomyopathy frequently precipitated by a stressful event and has a clinical presentation that is indistinguishable from a myocardial infarction.

2) Apical ballooning syndrome (ABS) is a unique reversible cardiomyopathy frequently precipitated by a stressful event and has a clinical presentation that is indistinguishable from a myocardial infarction.

Your sentences appear to be identical, but omitting 'that is' would make no difference to the meaning.
